Staete Landt 2018 Map Maker Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

There's a plasticky reduction at the start of this wine that mostly blows off after time in the glass. In its place, lime, white pepper, passion fruit and a bit of tomato leaf aromas float to the fore. Acidity on the palate is on the lean and mean side, only partially saved by the creamy texture, citrusy fruit and vegetal, herbal tinge at the finish. Christina Pickard
