Stolo 2019 Syrah (San Luis Obispo County)

This bottling is always one of the most exciting of the year, at least for those who crave the savory, umami-soaked potential of cool-climate Syrah. Aromas of cracked pepper, charred lamb, nori wrap, hollow mud pit, pine needle and exploded asphalt lead into a palate that signals acidity. Similar flavors of charred lamb and pepper meet with rosemary and crumbled herbs. Matt Kettmann
