Suhru 2009 Shiraz (North Fork of Long Island)

Hints of char, smoke and green bramble accent tart black-fruit and vanilla-spice flavors in this Shiraz (with a splash of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon). The dense tannins are tacky on the palate, but zesty acidity and fresh flower and herb notes on the finish add elegance. Anna Lee C. Iijima
