Summerland 2012 Trio G-S-M (California)

Cellar Selection

The California appellation is because this is a blend from Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The big question is if it will age long enough for the tannins, which are very dry and hard, to resolve. The wine is incredibly rich and concentrated in black currants and licorice, suggesting that the fruit might just outlast the hardness. Give it until 2019 and see what it's doing.
