Sweet Cheeks 2016 Triple Block Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

Principally sourced from 22-year-old vines, this has a smooth entry, with palate-coating blue and purple fruits. That seamless, dense midpalate is further enhanced with streaks of mocha and licorice, from 16 months in two-thirds new barrels. The tannins are chewy and could benefit from a few more years of bottle age. Paul Gregutt
