Swiftwater 2016 Malbec (Columbia Valley (WA))

Aromas of dark roasted coffee, char, plum, fresh and dried green herbs, vanilla and cassis are followed by somewhat lighter styled fruit and barrel flavors, with the fruit focused around the edges. Lightly grainy tannins provide support. The oak seems overweighted for the fruit that is in the glass. Sean P. Sullivan
