This unusual and distinctive red wine includes 22% Syrah, presumably to punch up the color and fill in the midpalate. Counoise is a tart, light red, and yet quite interesting for its flavor mix. Here it's a mélange of apple, melon, carpaccio and chalk, nicely balanced and barreled in neutral French oak.
