Pinot Gris makes a refreshing change from the oceans of Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough produces, and the winemakers make a clear style distinction between the two. This version of PG is a good example of the former, offering aromas and flavors of lime, ripe pear and other freshly picked orchard fruit. There's some white spice on the palate along with a creamy texture. The fruit drops out a bit towards the finish, but overall this is a solid and varietally expressive drop. Christina Pickard
