Tait Wines 2002 Basket Pressed Cabernet Sauvignon (Barossa Valley)

Anise and oak on the nose; winemaker Bruno Tait says, “Believe it or not, it's 15.5% alcohol,” but I don't see why we're supposed to be so surprised. It's a sizeable wine, with woody tannins that linger on the palate, and mixed plum fruit underneath. A very nice wine, concentrated and intimidating.
