Tait Wines 2014 The Wild Ride Red (Barossa Valley)

Despite the steep 15.5% alcohol that adds some heat, this blend has a lot to offer. On the nose, ripe red currant and cranberry fruit mingles with more savory, earthy characters of green olive, tobacco and eucalyptus. The palate is grainy in textured, with a strong savory current propelled by soft, supple tannins and bright acidity. Christina Pickard
