Tamarack Cellars 2014 Firehouse Red (Columbia Valley (WA))
A tribute to the art of blending, this wine is a mix of 10 different varieties with none making up even a third of the blend. It leads with aromas of plummy blue fruit, smoke, vanilla and herbs followed by plump fruit flavors and lightly grippy tannins. Sean P. Sullivan

I do not believe this wine fits in the pricepoint or quality of other wines from Washington State's Columbia Valley. Upon opening, it has a hot, vinegar flash to it across the breeze on the table and carries a strong wooden musky note in the glass, much like a wine that was forced to mature quickly under a less than ideal condition, like a hot steel container full of wood chips. The palate picks up bitter, bright, high alcohol content and lacks complexity. The teeth become instantly coated with fuzz from the wine and the taster is left reaching for crackers and cheese.
