It's strange to encounter a current-release 1999 wine, and this offering is uneven. Some wet dog and pickle-barrel aromas wrestle on the spicy, lightly fruited nose. The palate is more than a touch green, while the finish is chewy and creamy, with ponderous, spicy oak.
