Taylor Fladgate 1927 Vintage (Port)

By far the darkest of the first few vintages in this vertical, with intense dried fruit and maple syrup aromas marked by slightly nutty, toffee notes. It seems still youthful if that's possible in a wine nearly 80 years old, with great power and freshness and minerally notes. Doesn't have quite the spicy complexity of the '08, but it's still superb. Joe Czerwinski
