Te Awa Farm 1999 Longlands Red (Hawke's Bay)

Chocolate, cassis and cream are joined on the nose by hints of dried herbs. The black-currant flavors turn tobaccoey on the palate, but the rich texture holds the wine together. Soft tannins make this a wine for current consumption. Joe Czerwinski
