Te Pa 2017 Pinot Noir (Marlborough)

This is an aromatic wine but it feels a little synthetic, like it's wearing too much makeup. It's floral but in a hotel soap kind of way. Oak spice follows, along with ripe red-cherry notes. The palate shows more tart red-berry flavors but the acidity is sharp and the tannins oaky, standing in their own separate corner rather than weaving through the wine. Christina Pickard
