Tement 2015 Ried Grassnitzberg Reserve Sauvignon Blanc (Südsteiermark)

Editors' Choice

Lemon oil, beeswax and pleasantly bitter walnut on the nose come with an ethereal edge of thyme. The palate, still shy and closed, shows immense concentration and incredible freshness. There is something balm-like in that rich texture that soothes and smooths the very high-toned, gorgeous Amalfi lemon freshness. This is a wine of stone and place, a wine that lets site triumph over variety. Here Sauvignon Blanc is merely a conduit for the ancient coral reefs that make up this site. Momentous. Drink 2025–2045.
