Ten Sisters 2016 Pinot Noir (Marlborough)

This is a juicy-fruited if rather oaky Pinot. Fruit and floral aromas—red berries, plums and violets—are backed by earthier ones—mushrooms, black olives—and an herbal spice. Despite the oak influence, which shows on the palate as well as the nose, the fruit remains lifted, wound by silky, savory tannins. Drink now. Christina Pickard
