The nose on this red from the western Tuscan subregion of Maremma is light and bright, with fresh cherries, meat jus, top soil, espresso beans and sambuca flowers. The palate remains energetic and juicy, with cherries, orange, chocolate, soil and mushroom cooked around roasted meat. Pliable tannins make for good drinking now. Danielle Callegari
