Tenuta Belguardo 2001 Serrata di Belguardo (Maremma)

A rich and full wine, with raisin, licorice and cassis on a semisweet nose. Plum and juicy berry define the palate. Finishes alive and fast, with ripe-edged fruit and some leathery tannins. Packed fairly full with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, in addition to Sangiovese. Made by Marchese Mazzei. Michael Schachner
