Quite hard-cooked on the bouquet, but the berry and cassis flavors are ripe and juicy. If you can ignore the wine's persistent burnt oak character, clearly an attempt to elevate the wine to its Vineyard Selection name, it has pretty good feel, heft and integrity. Michael Schachner
