Terre Rouge 2019 Sentinel Oak Vineyard Pyramid Block Syrah (Shenandoah Valley (CA))

This wine is still a bit tightly wound, with coarse, chalky tannins coating the mouth and oak-forward aromas. However, behind that, the wine shows excellent fruit concentration, imparting flavors of blackberry, blueberry, black cherry, olive tapenade, cinnamon and black pepper. With a good decant, this wine will evolve over the course of a meal (and be sure to choose something as decadent and rich as this wine). Or hold and enjoy an elevated complexity—best after 2026.
