Teso La Monja 2014 Alabaster (Toro)

In most years, Alabaster blows you away with its power, concentration and depth of flavors. In 2014, a mediocre year in much of Northern Spain, this is still excellent. Blackberry, cassis and creosote aromas are toasty, while this is flush in feel and severely tannic. Blackberry, mocha and coffee flavors finish with creamy oak and chocolate notes along with meaty tannins. Only 100 cases produced; drink through 2030. Michael Schachner
