Testarossa 2000 Michaud Vineyard Chardonnay (Chalone)

From the rugged, limestone-infused hills east of Monterey, this is an intensely concentrated wine whose peach flavors are made more complex by a mineral streak that's suggestive of flint or gunmetal. The flavors are enormous, and the structure is gorgeous. Crisp acidity and a creamy texture suit the fruit perfectly. Finishes dry and spicy.
