Testarossa 2002 Garys' Vineyard Syrah (Santa Lucia Highlands)

This is a complex Syrah whose cool-climate origins show in the peppery, leathery profile and crisp acids. It's absolutely dry, and the tannins, while pronounced, are easily negotiated. As good as it is, it could use more fruity concentration.
