The “Elder Series” designation seems to refer to 30-year vines, which would make them among the first planted at this esteemed vineyard. I'm not sure that vine age shows in the resulting wine, though, which tastes young and fruity and immature. The keen acidity and grape-sappy, primary fruit cherry and raspberry flavors aren't yet integrated with the oak. But the wine shows enormous promise. Open after 2008, and through 2013.
