Many vintners believe Mencía has a great future in California, and this is one of the first bottlings to test that claim. Low in alcohol, it begins with aromas of carnation, lavender, cracked pepper, dank sage and pomegranate. The palate is tense and underripe in style, with eucalyptus lead and snappy red plum flavors.
