The Bruery hits the target once more in its Share This lineup, this time, with an imperial stout brewer with Mostra coffee beans that are sourced from the Philippines and proceeds benefiting the Free Wheelchair Mission's efforts in the Philippines. It pours just about as black as black could be, with an intense nose of robust coffee, molasses, toasted brown bread, chocolate fudge and some stewed black fruit in the background. The mouthfeel is thick and chewy, with bold, roasty flavors that carry through to the smoky, toasty finish. The carbonation is light, but enough to keep the slick palate in check, with additional notes of roasted cocoa nib, caramel and plum sauce adding complexity and depth.
