The Bunkhouse 2018 Semillon (Hunter Valley)

Made by the acclaimed Brokenwood winery team, this perfectly encapsulates the unique Aussie style that is Hunter Valley Semillon. Opening with fragrant bouquet of fresh ginger, lemon-lime, red-apple skins and honeysuckle, the palate is sliced with laser-sharp talc-textured acidity, a calling card of this wine style. There's plenty of texture in this medium-bodied sipper as well, but the acid steals the show. Things finish on a copper-penny tang. Knock it back with a spicy Asian stir fry. Christina Pickard
