The Eyrie Vineyards 2017 Pinot Meunier (Dundee Hills)

Rarely bottled as a stand-alone varietal, this grape is generally perceived as the sturdy relative of more elegant Pinot Noir. Here it's surprisingly light in color and flavor, with a strong component of tack room leather. The raspberry fruit is bright and fresh, but the surrounding barnyard flavors tend to overtake it. Drink this over the next couple of years. Paul Gregutt
