The Great Oregon Wine Company 2018 Front Yard Vineyard Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

Some single-vineyard cuvées (this included) that were formerly bottled under the Duck Pond label have been transferred to this new label following the acquisition of Duck Pond by the Integrated Beverage Group. Case production is down and prices are up. This wine, aged 14 months in 50% new French oak, has muscular tannins, blackberry fruit and a strong savory streak. It's tough and chewy, dense and detailed, and may do some interesting things over time if you have the patience. Paul Gregutt
