From the team behind Port Brewing, The Hop Concept releases feature labels that are reminiscent of car air fresheners, identified with different hop-influenced characteristics. In this case, their spring release, it's citrus and piney. This is a standard DIPA, with resinous aromas of orange and grapefruit rind, pine and honeyed stone fruit on the nose. Those notes continue through to the sticky, viscous mouthfeel, grounded by a round core of caramel-malt flavor. Medium carbonation helps lift the dank flavors on the palate, while hints of bread and blood orange peel linger through the astringent finish.
