From a vineyard that the proprietors planted by hand on the western fringe of the appellation, this bottling is very tight on the nose, showing chalk, ash, lemon zest and the slightest hint of blanched almond in a very ethereal display. There's a tense line of texture and acidity that runs like a laser through the palate, slicing up the Asian pear, macadamia nut and sea-salt flavors. Matt Kettmann
