Partly whole bunch pressed, this is a rich, ripe style of Pinot Gris that takes its time opening. Once it does it offers candied pineapple, peach, lychee and toffee. The palate is equally opulent, with a creamy texture, some skinsy phenolics and just enough acidity to provide balance. It's not a dull wine—and it could make for some interesting food pairings—but it won't be to everyone's taste. Christina Pickard
