89pointsThe Mountain Winery 2008 Estate Pinot Noir (California)

The grapes come from the estate vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The wine shows intense raspberry, cherry, persimmon and cola flavors, heightened by crisp, stimulating acidity. It's immature, though, being direct and not very subtle. You might want to age it for 3–4 years. These mountain Pinots often can take the cellar.
