The Winery At Holy Cross Abbey 2016 Syrah (Colorado)

There is some brightness in the form of fresh blackberry, but this is decidedly reserved on the nose and cloaked in aromas of dried herbs, whole peppercorns and cedar. It is soft in feel, with mild acidity and flavors of goji berries and cassis. Crushed velvet tannins are persistent, but not overwhelming, carrying flavors of tobacco and driftwood. Fiona Adams
