Blackberry and cassis meet humidor and whisky barrel on a sexy and enticing nose, with the slightest peppery tingle. The palate is surprisingly corybantic, blending tart cherry and cranberry with tangy cedar and frenetic acidity. Savory clove and cocoa hover in the background with gentle powdery tannins. The finish is tart loaded with cherry and a hint of vanilla lingering endlessly. This needs time to get its ducks in a row. Drink after 2024. Fiona Adams
