Thomas Fogarty 2002 Chardonnay (Santa Cruz Mountains)

Comes down firmly on the steely, cool-climate side, with high acidity and flavors of apples and citrus fruits. Sur lies aging adds richer, creamy and yeasty notes, while oak does its smoky, vanilla thing. An interesting, complex food wine.
