94pointsThomas Fogarty 2016 Henry Ayrton's Block Rapley Trail Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Cruz Mountains)

Cellar Selection

Hailing from a very specific block that was planted in 1983, this bottling is complex on the nose with juniper, wet sage, gravel and blistered black plum. The palate is intriguingly unique, showing mulberry, sour cherry, rose petal, carnation and wild mint flavors, wrapped in chiseled tannins that will last a good while. Drink 2021–2036. Matt Kettmann
