Thomas Fogarty 2019 Albutom Vineyard Chardonnay (Santa Cruz Mountains)

Extremely clean and compelling aromas of Asian pear, seared lime, citrus blossom and even rose petal show on the nose of this bottling from vines planted at 1,930 feet in 1981. The palate is taut in texture, sizzling with acidity and powered by a sea shell minerality, as hints of lemon balm, crisp nectarine and underripe apricot emerge toward the finish. Matt Kettmann
