Thorn Clarke 2013 Shotfire Cabernet Sauvignon-Shiraz (Barossa)

Firmly tannic, this is the rare example of a lower-priced wine that deserves some time in the cellar. There's a sense of coolness and restraint to this wine at first. Hints of menthol lift scents of mixed berries, then develop on the palate into sturdy, chewy fruit flavors and mocha. Drink 2018–2030. Joe Czerwinski
