Nearly opaque in color, this is a dense concentrated wine that oozes grape jelly and berry preserves. Florals, spice and toasty oak run along the spine, but this is mostly about the ripe fruit. On the palate, chewy, muscular tannins cinch the plump fruit, lifting it out of syrupy territory and into a cellaring one. The oak rears up on finish. Drink 2021–2034. Christina Pickard
