Thorn Clarke 2018 Milton Park Shiraz (South Australia)

This is a jammy wine with what feels like synthetic cherry and raspberry, melted chocolate, furniture polish and savory spice notes. There's some bitterness and astringency on the palate from oak-derived tannins and some heat from the alcohol amid the ripe red berry fruit. Overworked and underwhelming. Christina Pickard
