The 2003 bottling was big, vibrant and flavorful. This one is less so; its juicy berry fruit wearing a thick veneer of oak that hasn't yet integrated. Surely meant for midterm aging, but still it doesn't show the verve that the previous vintage did. Maybe this bottling is in a dumb phase?
