T'Jara 2013 Merlot (North Fork of Long Island)

While oak-driven on the nose, boasting swathes of espresso bean and cocoa nibs, there's a core of ripe cherry and plum that carries the palate. A judicious balance of acid keeps this wine in check, while mild-grained tannins offer further support. A slight note of green stems arises on the midpalate through the astringent finish. Alexander Peartree
