Trapiche 2001 Oak Cask Chardonnay (Mendoza)

The apple, pear and banana aromas seem standard, but develop a varnishy note. Citrus fruits form the palate, and the finish is schizophrenic: at first it's sour and then it runs sweet. Finally, the mouthfeel is sharp due to piercing acids. —M.S. Michael Schachner
