Trinity Hill 1998 Gimblett Road Cabernet Sauvignon (Hawke's Bay)

The intense combination of vanilla, cassis and black-cherry aromas results in an almost syrupy sensation—before even tasting the wine. On the palate, it is rich and full, but not cloying in the least, thanks to juicy acids and a strong streak of mint. Mildly tannic; can be drunk now or aged a few years. Joe Czerwinski
