This rich, aromatic version of Chard won't be for everyone, but fans of a broader, more full-bodied style will dig it. With a nose like perfume, it wafts ripe pineapple, dried mango, nougat and spicy, slightly soapy oak. The oak-malolactic-lees combo feels more heavy-handed on the palate, the former drying out the fruit somewhat and leaving a weighty, creamy mouthfeel that's wanting for more freshness.
