Turkey Flat 2015 Shiraz (Barossa Valley)

Editors' Choice

Guardians of some of Barossa's oldest vines, the next generation of Shultzes are now at the helm and are steering Turkey Flat in a promising direction, focusing on organic practices in the vineyards and a lighter touch in the winery. The 2015 Shiraz is a great example of this, utilizing partial whole-bunch fermentation for lifted blue and black fruits, stalks, cinnamon and an earthy core. The palate is medium bodied, plush and juicy, with elegance, not richness, and a wonderfully savory finish. Drink now–2032. Christina Pickard
