Turquoise Mesa Winery 2017 TMW Reserve Red (Colorado)

Aromas of black currant and black cherry are joined by green tobacco, green peppercorn and a hit of menthol on the nose. Black plum and cherry make up the fruit components of the palate, followed by vanilla, tobacco and cedar tones. Tart berry acidity vies with powdery tannins that carry tingling spice. The acidity turns tangy on the finish and the fruit steps aside to the oak tones. Fiona Adams
