Tussock Jumper 2018 Shiraz (Australia)

This wine opens with up-front, borderline confected, fruitiness. Burrowing underneath the red-berry and plum aromas lies pepper spice. The palate is more skeletal than the nose suggests, with somewhat forced, tart acidity and a firm leathery grip of tannins. Still very young, this could use another year in bottle to shed its austerity. Christina Pickard
